A Quora reader asked me the other day, "Is believing in the Law of Attraction alone helpful to build a successful life?"
My answer: No.
I, for example, don’t believe in the Law of Attraction at all.
If it were really that simple that if you think negative thoughts, you attract negative things, and if you think positive thoughts, you attract positive things, then people with phobias, hypochondria, depression, and anxiety should have objectively horrible lives… each and every one of them.
What manifestation really is, is the application of an inherent, God-given kind of magic that we all possess. Every human has a divine spark inside of him or her that allows us to manifest what we focus on with intention.
“With intention” is the operative word here. That’s why being afraid of something and thinking about it all the time doesn’t make it come true. (And thank God for that.)
To manifest properly, it takes five things:
If you apply and align all five, manifestation happens naturally. I strongly recommend to add “belief in God” to the Faith part because it will keep you humble and down to earth.
As with everything else in life, you have to be careful with manifestation, or else it can backfire.
Wishing for frivolous, stupid, materialistic, egomaniacal things will, in my book, start you on a downward spiral that is hard to escape. Using God as your guide can protect you from that danger.
Good luck with your manifestation and Godspeed!
